Reminder: Re-registry for out of work is done the first five business days of February, May, August and November.
Please remember retiree dues are $8.00 unless you want to be listed on the Out of Work List.
Important dates for our active members. Remember the April monthly meeting is held in Grayling, MI on the 1st at 8:00 p.m.
If you are not working right now, please make sure you contact the hall to get on the out of work list. This is not only a great way to get calls for work but also necessary if you are currently applying for unemployment benefits.
We have recently been made aware of this update and wanted to pass it on to any of you applying for unemployment benefits:
If you've applied for unemployment benefits recently you are already aware that you are being asked to fill out a form every month naming places you have contacted seeking employment and a contact person. All you have to do is indicate you are hired through the Union Hall on form #1583. You can use words such as "Only hired through Union Hall" and include full name, mailing address and phone number of the Union Hall contact person. Sign, date and return the form per their instructions. Follow this process for each week to claim. If you are not back to work in 120 days you will be required to do the work search information sheet filling out who you contacted while seeking work.
You never have to worry about late dues again! You can sign a vacation deduction so your monthly dues come right from your vacation check. Call the officer for more information and for the form to apply.
